Founded in 1978, The School of Makeup Art Ltd. is Canada's foremost beauty, film & theatrical makeup school. The School is Registered as a Private Career College under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.

All faculty members and their qualifications have been approved in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities. Each faculty member is currently an active professional in his/her field, providing a vital link between the student and the industry. Professional memberships held by the faculty include Fashion Group International, Look Good… Feel Better Program, Association of Image Consultants International, the Canadian Network of Makeup Artists and the Artist Group.

Programs provide the students with the necessary skills required of a professional makeup artist. Training is offered in fashion, photographic and bridal makeup, special effects, prosthetics and straight makeup for film and televison, hair styling for the camera as well, public relations and business entry essentials. These essentials allow the student to enter the work force with confidence.

The School of Makeup Art Ltd. has an international roster of graduates from Malaysia, Korea, Germany, Colombia, Japan, the United States of America and Canada. Graduates have found employment in television at the CBC, CHCH, CFTO, and Cable 10, the Canadian Opera Company, international stage productions and cosmetics companies including Revlon, Cosmair, L'Oreal, Faces, Glamour Shots, The Body Shop, MAC, Cargo, Christian Dior. Both students and graduates are encouraged to participate in diverse charity functions such as Variety Club Telethon, charity fashion shows and community events.

The School of Makeup Art Ltd. has been built on a foundation of "Excellence in Training" and all the students graduate well prepared to take their place in tomorrow's world.
